Do you ever feel disengaged and unimportant? Loneliness might be the underlying reason â even if youâve never considered yourself âalone.â A new article in Psychology Today discusses the difference between social and emotional loneliness and suggests that resolving loneliness might be the key to feeling more engaged. It cites a recent study showing that âInterpersonal relationships are among the most powerful sources for well-being and healthâŠâ and without them, âindividuals experience loneliness.â Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/exjn259H#CheerUpTheLonelyDay #HHGcares #workingtogetherinharmony

Are you a Type A, Perfectionist, and maybe even struggle with Imposter Syndrome? You're not alone. Psychologists have developed empirical tests to assess core aspects of personality, including the "Big Five" traits: extroversion, neuroticism, openness, conscientiousness, and agreeableness. Interestingly, conscientiousness is a trait that many individuals with these characteristics possess. While it may come with higher levels of anxiety, being conscientious can be beneficial! In fact, scientific studies back this up. #PersonalityTraits #Conscientiousness #PsychologyStudies

Todays article I will be reviewing is something that resonates with me on my journey as a Psychologist and Therapist. How often have we thought about the difference between having a sense of purpose and having meaning in life? I am pretty sure we all have interpretations and personal definitions of it. This article clearly distinguishes between the two and I feel its really important to understand it.In positive psychology, a âsense of purpose" refers to a deep conviction that your life is moving in a certain direction. An important distinction between âpurposeâ and âmeaning" is that you can feel what youâre doing has a purpose, but does it have meaning?A âsense of purposeâ is an inner-directedness or âthe extent to which one feels they have personally meaningful goals and directionâ vs. âpurpose in lifeâ as âan individualâs specific overarching goal and direction.Have you ever thought if whether having a sense of purpose is more important than having meaning? This article might give you some clarity with this question. I hope you find it as enlightening as it did to me.#positivepsychologyhttps://lnkd.in/gfgzfY9Y
